Love all the cartoons, timeline, history of such an important part of our civilization.. It is very solidifying for your understanding of where actual Buddhist teachings fit into a real life.
As a side note, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche was (fairly commonly) connected with both the Nyingma and Kagyu schools, and students of both (or neither, for that matter) can find much to gain from reading the book. Not worth it. Dorman grapples with the knowledge that modern medicine defies its own conviction in scientific methodology by putting the scraps of information about neurobiology into effect through the use of psychiartic medication, while completely ignoring the recovery of all schizophrenics who haven't used medication.
Dante's cure is a good read over all. Same with "Constellations." Some songs sound close, but others are way off. That gave me serious pause for thought.
One more point: I finished this book the same week as President Obama's "stay in school" p
