Billy Best was thrown into a war with cancer, and even though it was difficult he came out on top. For example, the chapter on modifications will tell you a tiny bit about roll bars, snorkels, winches, lockers, and skid guards, but WON'T tell you how to install so much as a shock absorber. They offer a tremendous amount of detail about the teams, drivers, cars, technical advances, etc. And while I agree that it could be given a true five star rating, portions of the book just seemed so distracting to me that it actually took away from the reading. His life quickly expands - amazingly, straight from his village he is invited to speak at an African conference organized by TED, the California organization which publicizes emerging ideas about technology and design. I am curious to know if she really believed she was telling the truth when she told Bair - and others - that most of her letters to Sartre were missing or if she was intentionally deceptive.
