This is the classic introduction for the educated lay reader to the richly diverse world of mathematics: its history, philosophy, principles, and personalities.

Editorial : We tend to think of mathematics as uniquely rigorous, and of mathematicians as supremely smart. In his introduction to The Mathematical Experience, Gian-Carlo Rota notes that instead, "a mathematician's work is mostly a tangle of guesswork, analogy, wishful thinking and frustration, and proof is more often than not a way of making sure that our minds are not playing tricks." Philip Davis and Reuben Hersh discuss everything from the nature of proof to the Euclid myth, and mathematical aesthetics to non-Cantorian set theory. They make a convincing case for the idea that mathematics is not about eternal reality, but comprises "true facts about imaginary objects" and belongs among the human sciences.

Billy truly just wants to get the word out and help others with this story.

I thought about what to write here but my 12 year old daughter made a great summary for her book report so I'll post her summary.

In the book The Billy Best Story Beating Cancer with Alternative Medicine, Billy is a boy that goes through one tragedy after another. I included a picture of him dressed as elsa tonight, and one with his older sister, as they were leaving to go trick or treating.

tl;dr- This felt like an it gets better novel, but it also felt like an it gets better novel written specifically for my child.. Each chapter covered a "level of hell" that was not only perfect for quick reads but in between the droll humor provided some thought provoking musings. Hope he writes more!. It's also definitely not Fifty Shades of Grey but it does go into his love life, and let's just say his soft lips begin kissing something ;) and your going to have to read the book to find out
